About Interstate Park

A basalt gorge carved by the St. Croix River forms the core of this 1,330 acre park, with glacial potholes and other rock formations exposed along its walls. The property sits alongside a twin park across the river in Minnesota, together forming one continuous protected landscape within the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway. It also marks the western end of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and falls inside the Ice Age National Scientific Reserve, linking geology and long-distance hiking in one place.
