About Mirror Lake State Park

2,179 acres of land surround Mirror Lake, a narrow reservoir bordered by sandstone walls that rise as high as 50 feet. The lake covers 137 acres and runs 10 to 14 feet deep on average, and its position out of the wind keeps the surface calm enough to reflect its surroundings, giving the lake its name. The grounds also hold the Seth Peterson Cottage, a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed building that can be rented by the public.
